The objective of the program is to create awareness among the women of Hayi mada community regarding cancer and its diagnosis.
The program started with an opening prayer by Mrs. Juliana John a participant. Thereafter Mrs. Ruth Madaki (CEO), offered a welcoming speech on behalf of Rhilama and Rhitse Foundation. She appreciated the participant for attending the program to mark year 2022 World Cancer Day with the theme “Close The Care Gap”.
The event continued with a keynote lecture delivered by Dr. Timothy M. one of the resource persons of Rhilama and Rhitse Foundation bothering on discussion and demonstrations in areas among which are:
• Signs/signals of cancer.
• Types of cancer.
• Supportive schemes and services available for cancer patients.
• Some preventive measures against cancer.
• Some self-check/techniques of breast examination.
• Treatment of cancer.
• Questions and answers sessions.
Quite a sizeable members of the community participated and identified with the program as effective and motivating.
One of the women stood and offered the vote of thanks and appreciated Rhilama and Rhitse Foundation and asked for God’s blessing and also attest that this has created awareness among them and has educated the women and will help in a long way as guide to the women.
